Kufstein fortress

Kufstein fortress sits enthroned in a striking position above the centre of the town. The fortress was first mentioned in documents dating from 1205. These days Kufstein is a popular place for theatre and concert events. Once a year this well-known sight is the impressive backdrop for Operetta Summer Kufstein. The state-of-the-art Panoramabahn takes visitors conveniently to the Festungsberg. Another highlight is the Heroes’ Organ: It is the biggest outdoor organ in the world.
